Some Procedures to Detoxify Your Bowels

According to the Cleveland Clinic, there’s only one true way to detoxify your bowels: having regular bowel movements. The detoxification systems you see lining store shelves are nothing more than a marketing ploy. If you are feeling bloated or haven’t been moving your bowels regularly, there are some easy ways to detoxify your bowels.

Make sure that you are drinking at least 64 ounces of water each day.

1. Change Your Diet

A diet that is high in fat and low in fiber will quickly bind your bowels. Changing your diet to include foods that are high in fiber will help your bowels move. Diet changes are fairly simple to make. Try to limit dairy products along with anything that contains caffeine. Add a serving of fruits or vegetables to each meal. High fiber foods include baked beans, lima beans, lentils and split peas. If you can add any of these to your diet, you’ll find that your bowels move much more regularly.

2. Exercise

Many people don’t think of exercise as a way to move bowels. Exercising daily keeps all of your body’s systems working properly. You don’t have to run marathons to detoxify your bowels, but you do have to get up and get moving for at least 20 minutes each day. Find an exercise that you like and stick to it. Whether you walk, job, swim or play your Wii, the goal is to perform some form of exercise on a daily basis.

3. Psyllium

You can find ground psyllium in any health food store. The key to detoxifying with psyllium is in how you take it. Mix a teaspoon of the powder in eight ounces of water and drink it. You want to drink this mixture three times a day. Additionally, make sure that you are drinking at least 64 ounces of water each day. Drink psyllium daily for a week and then as needed. If you haven’t had a bowel movement by day three of your psyllium routine, consult your physician.

4. Probiotics

Once you’ve begun to have regular bowel movements, adding probiotics to your diet can help reintroduce friendly bacteria to your digestive system. While you can purchase probiotics in the health food store, the easiest way to get these good bacteria is through the consumption of plain yogurt. Products like Activia have added probiotics that can be beneficial for some people. Add one serving of yogurt to your diet each day to repopulate your digestive system with good bacteria.

Don’t buy expensive, complicated detoxification systems. If you think that your bowels could use some help, follow the tips above. Changing your diet, drinking more water and adding a product like psyllium or a laxative drink are effective, natural ways to jump start your digestive system.

Dinner Attire: Transitioning from Day to Night

Going out for dinner is considered as a special event or occasion and many women find themselves in a dilemma over what to wear for dinner. The decision would come by easy if you know you’re going to a fancy restaurant or to the International House of Pancakes afterwards where you don’t really need to wear a gown for your early morning omelette. Nor will you need some dress jewelry for a seafood fest dinner. For most dinner dates, you only need to spruce up a tad and transition from your day or work wear for a relaxed and charming night out.

Change your daytime studs and choose something that
swings, sparkle and move as you turn your head.

Cozy up with accessories to spice up your dinner attire. There are three simple ways to do this – change your shoes, handbag and earrings. From your work wear, you can add a bit of height or simply change out of something that’s you can wear for a game of volleyball. Swap your big office bag to something smaller like a purse or a fancy handbag. For your earrings, change your daytime studs and choose something that swings, sparkle and move as you turn your head. This will also have some heads turning as you walk into the restaurant.

Add a jacket to sizzle up your dinner attire up a notch. With a cropped jacket, you will instantly look more chic, stylish and put together. Of course, throwing on a windbreaker or a hoddie doesn’t work this way. You may be wearing a simple plain shirt underneath, but with a trendy blazer over it, you can look very chic, urban and fashionable. Other than a jacket, you can also go for a pea coat, a nice denim jacket or a military styled jacket.

To complete your dinner attire, touch up your makeup with slightly darker shades of lipstick and eye shadow. You may also play it up with some shine and sheen by dusting on some bronzer and gold eye shadow and a little lip gloss over your lip color. Playing up your work wear and your daytime look by adding little details such as a nice jacket and some accessories can instantly make you look dinner-worthy!

5 Natural Alternatives To Deodorants

Choosing natural alternatives to deodorants is a healthy lifestyle change that can make you smell better and feel better. Switching to these natural solutions will make you healthier and more eco-friendly.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is naturally anti-bacterial. It is moisturising, soothing and can ease itchy skin too. Applying coconut oil to the underarms is easy and simplified. Coconut oil is also very affordable, and it lasts forever. This special oil is also great for other skin ailments. It has multiple uses around the house and for your skin. It fights odors all day to keep you feeling fresh.

Powder Deodorant

Powders containing talc, a little fragrance and tea-tree oil can work wonders for body odors. This natural solution can be applied by using a brush or your hand. A baking soda and corn-starch combination also works. Both are great for fighting bacteria and odors. It’s a simple concoction that you can make at home. It’s also very cheap and lasts a long time. Powders also keep the skin dry and prevent chafing while you go about your day.

Activated Charcoal

Activated charcoal is a natural ingredient in a number of underarm products. It fights odors and bacteria. It keeps the skin dry too. This ingredient is powerful for even the worst body odor. Look for natural products that contain activated charcoal as an active ingredient.

Deodorant Stones

These stones are made from potassium alum, and they work incredibly well for fighting odor. It’s a little awkward to use them at first. You have to wet the stone first. It can feel different from what you are used to, but it’s an incredibly effective product that is free from toxic ingredients. These stones come in a variety of packages, sizes and some have fragrances. They also last months, and you will save a bit of money on deodorants by switching to these.

Lemon Juice

Lemon is great for killing bacteria, and it smells fresh. Applying the juice from a lemon slice to your underarms may seem silly, but it works well. Be careful when applying it to waxed or shaved underarms. That will burn quite a bit.

These natural alternatives work well for fighting odor, but they aren’t designed to stop sweat. You can expect to feel a little smelly the first week after switching to a natural product, but your body will regulate. After a few weeks, you will quit noticing an odor. Deodorants are counterproductive because they can make you smell even more when you aren’t using the product. Natural alternatives at the way to go for a healthier body and planet.

The Safest Product for the Most Sensitive Skin

It maybe impossible to have perfect skin but it is not impossible to have soft smooth skin with so many over-the-counter skin care products available. Some products claim to take years off your face and some claim to lighten your skin in just a week. However, not all these skin care products are suitable for sensitive skin just like that of my daughter.

My daughter was born with sensitive skin and last year, she was diagnosed with Pityriasis Alba, commonly known as skin asthma. She used to have small oval patches on her legs and arms. The dermatologist said it is common to teenagers and children especially with morena or tanned skin. She then prescribed a topical cream, Cetaphil cleanser or soap and Cetaphil lotion to clear up the white patches.

Why Cetaphil? Because Cetaphil is the safest product for the most sensitive skin that’s why it is the most trusted and precribed skin care brand by dermatologists and pediatricians. With Cetaphil products, even the most sensitive skin can enjoy the proper skin care such as cleasing amd moisturizing. Now, the white patches on my daughter’s skin are all gone.

You can double the fun of having soft smooth skin because Cetaphil’s ongoing promo “Get Two for the Price of One” for Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 and Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion.

Steps for a Summer Ready Make Up

Summer is synonymous with fun-filled vacations and beach bumming. You can’t exactly point where or what but there always something about the summer season that makes one want to put on a sunny dress and join some free-spirited soiree. But the hot rays of the sun make it hard for ladies to wear makeup fit for bright days ahead. So here are some tips to achieve lids as cool as the ocean and skin bronzed hot like the sun.

A Perfect Base

Cleanse your skin using a toner and a moisturizer, then apply a primer using fingers. If you have good skin or you’re not a fan of foundations, you can use primers alone. Apply concealer to hide blemishes such as spots and dark under eye circles. Set this up with loose powder.

Prettify your Preppers

Using a golden beige eye shadow, draw a line on your upper lid and blend it downward to distribute the color. Create “flirty” wing at the tip of your lids, for beginners, this using an angled brush is the key to this. Finish up by curling your lashes and a swipe of mascara.

Emphasize Brows

Sweep brow power on your brows with light strokes. Imitate the growth of hair to achieve a more natural look. Brow pencil should also be sharpened before each use.

Bright and Rosy Cheeks

Pink and rosy color shows that you are healthy and ready to take the sun, sand and sky. Before applying blush, dust of some bronzer for that enviable dusky glow. If there is anything that you want to hide and for those that you want to illuminate, these are best done with rich dusting of bronzer. For many women, these areas are the sides of the forehead, underneath the cheekbones and along the jaw line. Coral blush on the apples of your cheek produces a lovely pop of color.

Nude Kissers

When wearing make up, women can choose whether to highlight the eyes or her lips. A hot summer look, you can easily choose to focus on the eyes by wearing subdued lip color. Nude pink applied straight from the tube gives out a natural finish while lip brush helps you achieve a more precise look.
