2. Skip the hair dryer: Unfortunately, your hair dryer causes immediate damage to your hair. Although the damage isn’t as apparent as with the regular use of a straightening or curling iron, the damage from a hair dryer can make your hair weaker as time passes. The best thing to do for your hair is to let it air dry, but if you must use heat, then spray your hair with a heat protectant spray.

3. Wash your hair with cold water: Although washing your hair with cold water isn’t a pleasant experience, it makes a huge difference in the health of your hair. Hot water is just as damaging as the repetitive use of heat styling tools, so it should be avoided. Washing your mane with hot water can even make it thinner and frizzier. Cold water seals the cuticle of the hair, making it look sleeker; hot water, on the other hand, causes the cuticle to expand, making hair dull and prone to breakage.

Massage your scalp: Massaging your scalp every day helps promote circulation to your scalp, which helps your hair stay healthy, grow faster and grow thicker. 10 to 15 minutes a day is all you need to notice stronger, longer and healthier hair. You can also massage your scalp with essential oils. Olive oil is loaded with vitamin E, which is a vitamin that is essential for your hair.

5. Avoid tight hairstyles: Tight hairstyle often results in traction alopecia, which is a condition that causes hair loss. Tight braids, like cornrows, tight ponytails and tight buns can cause your hair to break off at the roots, so make sure you try hairstyles that are gentle. Loose, undone ponytails and buns are a lot healthier than tight ponytails and ballerina buns.
