We have jobs and commitments that we can just not afford to miss. Luckily there are ways to catch a cold early, like catching a criminal in the dark but this time it’s a virus. It’s all about being progressive and taking the time to listen to your body. The following article lists some specific symptoms to look out for to avoid getting a full blown cold. Take some time now to consider these symptoms and whether they are applicable to you right now or store them away for later.

Lack of energy

Your body is busy trying to fight off a virus, no wonder you feel tired. It’s really important that if you start to feel tired you give your body some time to rest. Give your immune system all of your bodies’ energy so that’s where the focus is.

Body aches

We’ve all experienced this dull ache throughout our whole body. It’s a very distinct feeling. This is a common symptom of cold and flu in the early stages. In terms of medicine, there is not much available that you can take. A pain killer may be suitable for you but double check with your healthcare professional, you can never be too careful.

Sore throat

A sore throat can also be a tell-tale sign that you may be getting sick. There are a great range of antibacterial lozenges that fight off germs. You could also try a home remedy, honey and milk. Whatever you feel work best. Be sure that you are getting the right product for your symptoms. If you have been dry coughing than you’ll probably need a Bisolvon strong cough syrup to suppress your cough, which will in turn sooth your throat.

Temperature

Keep an eye on your body temperature. If you start to feel warm there is no harm in checking. If you do find that you are experiencing high temperatures you can take paracetamol or ibuprofen to help bring it down, double check with your healthcare professional what would be best suited for you and your symptoms.
So what should you do if you get these symptoms? Take the time to rest, Try to boost your immune system with supplements like Echinacea and Vitamin C, relieve your sore throat with lozenges and don’t go to work (if possible). Taking a day or two off work when these symptoms first appear could save you a week or two off of work.
